I love a slow Sunday but the past 2 have been super busy. I've promised myself a slow Monday instead this week. I love a good Sunday walk, maybe catch up with gardeners world and most perfect of all, a full day pottering in the garden

Did you enjoy your slow Monday Andrea? I think that is such a good idea, when you can't have a quieter Sunday to maybe try and schedule that time into the week instead. That would certainly work for me when I have to work Sundays! Pottering round the garden sounds lovely!

I have to be honest Emily, it didn't really happen, it was slower for sure. There are lots of things happening at the moment but each day I am determined to have a slower start at the very least

That's the best thing to do … aim for little and often 🙏

I love this. Your Sundays are very similar to mine but I am making more of an effort to put my phone away at the weekends. TBC how successful I am (I say as I type this on my phone! 😂)

🤣 same ! I have been getting so much better at putting my phone and away and not having it within arms reach all the time … but it is a difficult habit to break !!! Sometimes, I think it's pure habit and instinct to pick it up!

I love a slow Sunday … I feel so grateful when I have a Sunday with no plans and can just be as gentle as I need to in the day.

I hope you are enjoying a peaceful Sunday too Victoria 🙏🏡✨

“I think the biggest gift we can all receive on a Sunday is to simply be present, and enjoy the smaller, quieter moments, before another week comes around once more”. Love this 💫

This is lovely Emily. I love relaxing on a Sunday now, not pressuring myself to be super productive. To just take the day as it flows and listen to my energy levels. 🙏☺️

Hey Emily, this was the perfect post to read on a slow Sunday 😌 I love that you light a candle in the summer evenings too 🌞 cues like theses are great to help us unwind for the day.

Looking forward to reading more of your work 💖

I really loved this post Emily, you have a really calm Sunday, such precious times. I admit Sunday is a day I have had to grow to enjoy again after over 20 years teaching as Sunday meant prep and planning and not a day off at all. But since taking the leap to leave I am learning to embrace Sundays again. As I have a dog and hens I don’t get a lie in but what I do love is the traffic is quieter as no school run! This makes the day feel better 🌼🌱

Thank you Clare. I do think Sunday is such a precious day. I am always so sad if I have to work on a Sunday - but thankfully, it doesn’t happen too often. I try to keep plans in general to a minimum.

You are reclaiming Sunday for yourself and building a Sunday that soothes your spirit, that muscle memory and memories of the past will be harder to shake, but I love how you are embracing the day for you now.

What kind of dog do you have? I love chickens also - so lovely !!!

I feel so relaxed just reading this Emily.

I'm working on keeping my phone further than arms reach too. I have been quite surprised at just how difficult I've found it to be honest.

Thank you Louise, that is my main goal on a Sunday - to decompress and relax!

I totally agree with the phone, all this year I have been trying to use it less, and have it physically further away from me, but it is so hard! I guess, we just have to keep trying, let the intention inspire the action and we’ll get there.

That was a beautiful read Emily. I love a slow Sunday.

My Sundays are a bit random and weather dependent, but they always start with a cup of tea in bed, then we'll get up for breakfast.

Sometimes we will potter out in the van and park up somewhere with a nice view for the day. We'll start off with a nice walk then we will stay with the van where we will read, I will write and we generally just relax.

Other times we might do some work in the garden or potter around the home cleaning and tidying ready for the fresh week ahead. I try to catch up with my favourite Substacks and I will also work on my writing and do some journaling too.

Our Sunday evenings are usually a meal in front of the tv catching up with our favourite youtubers Molly, Early Retirement Wanderlust, Camper vibe and Cecilia Blomdhal.

At bedtime I usually go to bed first so I'll have a read for half and hour or so before going to sleep.
